Packings of Ellipsoids

As of Fall 2006 I am a Lawrence Postdoctoral Fellow at Lawrence Livermore National Labs working on the design, implementation, and applications of event-driven algorithms to problems in computational material science, including kinetic Monte Carlo for diffusion-limited reactions, molecular dynamics for hard particles, and hydrodynamics of polymers in solution. From 2001-2006 I was a graduate student at Princeton University in the Ph.D. Program in Computational and Applied Mathematics (PACM), and conduct research at the Princeton Institute for the Science and Technology of Materials (PRISM). Here is my CV (as of December 2005), and my Ph.D. dissertation (thesis) along with my Final Oral Exam (FPO) presentation (June 9th, 2006).
Notes: The MNG and GIF animations for the presentation can be found in the Graphics directory. I have used the  LyX word processor to create the dissertation, papers and presentation(s), and highly recommend it to everyone!

On this page you can find some information about work done at Princeton in collaboration with Dr. Salvatore Torquato as part of the Complex Materials Theory Group. You can find executable versions of my molecular dynamics packing codes along with some instructions here. Some random but fun animations can be found here. Barely documented VRML models that can be used to render sphere and ellipsoid packings can be found here.

Some Fortran 2003 examples can be found here. You may also visit my physics webpage from my previous institution, the Physics and Astronomy Department at Michigan State University.

Here is a list of publications I have coauthored (refereed journals only):
